The Bosendorfer takes approximately 6 years to receive once you have placed your order due to the specific natural drying process they use to achieve the darker and richer sound. Bosendorfer craftsmen are trained through a lengthy and rigorous apprenticeship program. At least 12 years are required for a technician to advance from the position of apprentice to journeyman, then to craftsman, and finally, to the position of blue-coated foreman. The piano boasts 92 or 97 keys where most pianos have 88 keys. The piano also starts at around $256,000 and there is a limited number in the US. Where else do you get the chance to sip a Moscow Mule while admiring the craftmanship of a Bosendorfer piano, admire works of art and top it off with a relaxing outdoor visit to the Marble Courtyard soaking up the gorgeous scenery.
