In this feature we will share the best tips from the professionals that are there everyday on how to get the ultimate rooftop experience. Everything from how to get the best possible seats to what to order and what time of day to visit a rooftop bar.

The Lost Square | 412 Williamson St.

This inviting rooftop bar, perched confidently above the riverfront, offers stunning panoramas and warm-hearted service. Inspired by the city’s lush plazas and nautical heritage, it’s a veritable outdoor parlor, with fresh air and refreshing drinks.

Best Time to Visit: Definitely sunset, the river views and candy skies are a perfect way to end the day
Are you Dog friendly: Yes! The Lost Square loves to see your furry friends
Don’t Miss Cocktail: All of our cocktails on the new Spring menu are named after Mean Girls references. So far, the most popular is “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” because its absurdly crushable. It’s a gin cocktail with Rosé and fresh raspberry syrup. Honorable mention is “Hair Full of Secrets” which is a lavender-hibiscus vodka, garnished with a spell…
Don’t Miss Appetizer: Pimento cheese spread, crab hush puppies and mushroom Boursin toast.

Peregrin | 256 E Perry St.

The Peregrin, the Perry Lane Hotel’s all-weather, open-air lounge with exquisite views of the cityscape from the rooftop deck, hand-crafted premium cocktails and a carefully curated wine list. The Peregrin also offers lawn games and one of Savannah’s best Instagrammable murals.

Best Spot in the House: Whether you are admiring our mural of which has become an iconic piece of art here in savannah, or taking in the gorgeous view, the atmosphere will be exactly what you would hope on a rooftop excursion. However, the lawn gives you a front row seat to the best view in the city. Of course, the upper lawn provides a bird’s eye view to the Savannah skyline and it is awfully pretty up there on your perch!
Best Time to Visit: For a lively atmosphere, weekends are the way to go but be sure to make a reservation. Recharge and get ready for the week by visiting on Sundays to relax and enjoy the day.
Don’t Miss Cocktails: From the very beginning, the most popular cocktail has been the Frozé All Day. A frozen drink with a mixture of vodka, rosé wine, lillet, and the secret ingredient, Aperol! Though, we have to say that for quite awhile now the Skylark has been a huge hit, most likely because it was born from nostalgia. The ingredients include, vodka, strawberry pureé, Gifford Rhubarb, lime, and orange bitters-a take on strawberry rhubarb pie. We like to indulge in creativity while infusing a bit of soul in all we do. Strawberry Rhubarb pie is a dish that instills memories for so many people, memories of savoring wonderful experiences with people we love.
Don’t Miss Appetizer: Fun things on the way in April, don’t miss the grilled Halloumi with watermelon, jalapeno and mint.
Any Fun Promotions Coming Up: We offer live music. When we have live entertainment, we post it on our social media-follow us @peregrinsavannah to keep up to date on our happenings. Frozé All Day in Summer! Wishing for a cool breeze while sipping cocktails by the fire then stop by in October or November. However, if you feel like hanging with some very cool Reindeer on the Roof, December is definitely the way to go!

The Drayton Hotel | 7 Drayton Street

Perched on top of the Drayton hotel and simply called Rooftop, the terrace offers unobstructed panoramic views of City Hall and the Savannah skyline.

Best Spot in the House: When Savannah weather is on her best behavior, snagging the northeast corner lounge set is undeniably the best seat – you have an unobstructed view of the gold dome of City Hall as well as the best people watching throughout the space.
Best Time to Visit: Any day, golden hour. We have an equal amount of indoor and outdoor space, so no matter the season or the weather, golden hour is pure magic. Outside, light glints off the golden dome of City Hall and inside, light floods in from 180 degree floor to ceiling windows. More based on luck, if you can catch one of the giant ships that pass so closely by us, there are few experiences to feel more perspective.
Don’t Miss Cocktail: I wouldn’t say we have a most popular cocktail, but a most popular style of service – several of our cocktails can be made into “bottle service” which comes in a family-style serving method and makes 4-5 cocktails – great for a group!
Don’t Miss Appetizers: Our menu is heavily based on seasonality, as is should be, so we change it up pretty often. Chef Meenan puts up some of the most delectable plates of any bar in Savannah, but some favorites right now are the crispy cauliflower with tahini dressing, or perhaps the sweet & salty ribs with peanuts, cilantro and collards. As always, we have the best oysters in the city and there’s nothing we love more on our rooftop than a dozen oysters and a bottle of bubbles.
Do You Offer Live Music: We do! Check out our instagram @draytonhotel for the next set to be announced!
What is The Best Feature of Your Rooftop: Undeniably it’s the scene – our rooftop is laid out to create intimate spaces throughout a large area so every couple, group or party feels they have their own little corner. While we welcome you to come by for just a drink or two, the best experience is setting up shop and letting the day pass with cocktails, incredible small plates and watching the ships pass by.
