The Olde Pink House to Host Casa Herradura Tequila Dinner, August 11th-6:30pm

The Olde Pink House, an iconic restaurant and architectural treasure located at 23 Abercorn St. in the heart of Savannah’s National Historic Landmark District, is delighted to host a special Casa Herradura Tequila Dinner on Thursday, August 11 at 6:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a selection of tequila cocktails followed by a tequila and food pairing with reposado, blanco and ultra tequilas that have been expertly crafted by Casa Herradura in Guadalajara, Mexico.  In addition, Casa Herradura Global Brand Ambassador Ruben Aceves will discuss each expression of tequila highlighted for the evening, offering insight into the agave cultivation and production process as well as the remarkable history of these award-winning spirits. A proud native of Guadalajara, Aceves has served as the director of international brand development for Casa Herradura since 2000 and is well-versed in the history of the Hacienda of San Jose del Refugio, the birthplace of Casa Herradura, which hosts more than 60,000 visitors a year. Stump Savannah : Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop, August 11th-7:00pm-8:00pm

Have you wondered why Staghorn Ferns grow mounted? Do you want to learn how to mount them yourself? Join them, and your soon-to-be new plant friends, on Thursday August 11th to find out! Come ready to get your hands a little dirty & have some fun! Price includes all materials. If you have other plants you would like help repotting feel free to bring those in as well. Refreshments will be complimentary.

 

Lucas Centennial Summer: Dirty Dancing, August 12th-7:00pm

“Dirty Dancing” set the standard for dance and romance films upon its release 35 years ago — and left all of us yearning to nail that lift with leading man Patrick Swayze. Set at a Catskills resort in the early 1960s, the film traces the love story of Johnny (Swayze) and Baby (Jennifer Grey) as they break down class barriers and light the dance floor on fire. Join them at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts is transformed into Kellerman’s for a night, where absolutely no one will be put in a corner. Watermelon drinks on special!

 

Savannah PirateCon 2022, August 13th-12:00pm

Shiver me timbers!! aAARRGH YOU READY?!?? Savannah Tybee PirateCon is upon us. Please dress in costume!! You need more than a bandana and a eye patch. The crazier the costume the better. Plan on raiding some drinking establishments for some spirits, splicing the main brace, and getting squiffy. There isn’t a better city to have a pirate themed pub crawl than the city where Robert Lewis Stevenson penned some of Treasure Island. Bar list will be posted week before with a map. It will be HOT so make sure your hydrated. Food will be available along the way.

Savannah Summer Formal, August 13th-6:00pm

All aboard for the first ever Savannah Summer Formal! On August 13, they’ll be embarking upon the Georgia Queen to make history: the largest suck down the Savannah River has ever seen.
Boarding for the sunset cruise begins at 6 pm and it will end around 9. A pregame is a given (details to come), and a downtown postgame is expected. Attire is cocktail/formal. Bringing a date is highly encouraged. Yoga for the Doshas with New Yoga Now, August 13th-12:30pm-2:30pm & 3:30pm-5:30pm

Join the amazing Shea Walker to learn how to b a l a n c e the Ayurvedic doshas using yoga asana. In this workshop, they will weave together yoga asana and Ayurvedic philosophy to create a deeper understanding of how subtle energy moves and affects our elemental nature.

This annual auction hosted by One Love Animal Rescue and Savannah Station replaces the well-recognized Friends of Animals Annual Auction. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to PARTY! Midday in the Beer Garden at Moon River, August 20th-11:00am-3:00pm

Join them for the second annual Midday in the Beer Garden Festival at Moon River! This beer festival takes place in the heart of historic downtown Savannah Georgia, right here at Savannah’s original brewpub and beer garden, on Saturday, August 20th, 2022. They’ll be pouring a wide variety of brews from 13+ local breweries, plus local mead and spirits! Also serving up brats, burgers, and more from the Beer Garden grill! Tickets include a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited sampling between 11am-3pm, and a festival logo sticker. CatVideoFest 2022, August 21st-3:00pm

The nationwide sensation and beloved annual tradition, CatVideoFest, finally makes its way to Savannah! A curated compilation of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and of course, classic internet powerhouses, the festival is a joyous communal experience, only available in theaters. Bringing together cat lovers and lovers of all things cute with local cat charities and animal welfare organizations, it also raises money to serve cats in need in the area.

This year’s CatVideoFest will help to support The Humane Society for Greater Savannah and adoptable cats will be in attendance!

Tickets for the event are $5 for SCAD Card holders, $8 for students, military, and seniors, and $10 for the general public.

 

Troupial Latin Summer Hawaiian Party on the Lawn, August 21st-4:00pm-11:00pm

Everyone has witnessed the building of this brand and this dream. Live music represents REAL support to those who have the musical talent to make us dance and at Troupial THEY LOVE musical talent. Saturday, August 27th, 12pm-8pm. 𝟮𝟰+ 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘀 concocted by the 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵 slush artisans they know, plus a few slushies by some of your favorite local SAV hangs. Graveface Oddities Market at the Lodge of Sorrows!, August 27th-12:00pm

They’re hosting their third oddities market on Saturday, August 27th! Curated by Odd Savannah and the Graveface Museum. Time: 12-5pm, early bird entry at 11am. Location: Lodge of Sorrows, 415 W Boundary St., Bay 6. Admission: $5 at the door OR $20 early bird entry to get in an hour before doors and be the first to see all the one-of-a-kind items the vendors bring. “Healthy Me!” by Savannah Children’s Museum, August 27th-10:00am-1:00pm

Savannah Children’s Museum will host a day of healthy living and family fun, showcasing many health and wellness programs and a great roster of community partnerships. The event, called “Healthy Me!” will take place on Saturday, August 27th from 10 am to 1 pm at Savannah Children’s Museum, 655 Louisville Rd. Savannah, GA 31401. “Healthy Me!” is included in the cost of Savannah Children’s Museum admission, $10 for all guests 18 months and older. As always, this event is FREE for Coastal Heritage Society members!

Flow with your Bliss Salt Room Special Event, September 15th-5:30pm & 6:45pm

Bliss Reiki Arts is excited to collaborate with @bodypolishboutique for this special event! They will be offering two back to back events on 9/15 one from 5:30pm- 6: 30 pm and one from 6:45pm to 7:45 pm. The experience begins with calming breath work and a guided meditation to begin to allow the body and mind to become settled. Immersed in sound, gentle yoga postures are led to strengthen, relax & align the physical body. Alongside the postures, the vibrational music continues supporting the energetic body. (yes, that means Olympia and Rainier will be there with you!!) A Sound Journey, or Sound Therapy, increases your vibrational⁠ frequency and deepens your yoga/meditation practice. During this⁠ experience, Sue and Chrissy will blend the complimentary healing⁠ aspects of a Sound Journey with a gentle yoga practice. While Sue⁠ leads you through a chakra meditation and gentle yoga class, Chrissy⁠ will play chakra crystal bowls and a variety of other instruments. This⁠ experience will leave you feeling deeply rested and renewed.⁠  Space is limited to 25 participants for this intimate experience.
