Once you climb the tower of Tybee Lighthouse, you might want to consider tackling the newest tower in Tybee at Pier 16. Planning to open on September 15, they will feature a seafood tower that is so big you might need a ladder to get to the top.
Owners, Chef Natalia and her husband Joshua wanted something new and exciting on Tybee. An opportunity came up at the corner of Inlet Avenue & Tybrisia, the street that leads to Tybee’s Pier 16, hence the name. The building was the original post office (c. 1961) for Tybee, they renovated it and offer a huge top deck for outdoor seating and taking in the views. But don’t run out just yet, the opening with be reservations only to safely accommodate customers during COVID. The staff will also be required to wear masks and they will be operating at lower capacity.
Aside from the dreamy seafood tower, diners can expect prime cut steaks and various other fresh seafood options. And don’t miss the bar…they will have a robust beer and cocktail list, including hand selected wines and flavored mojitos, perfect for the top deck seating to enjoy a refreshing drink. And don’t forget to grab another when you’re headed out for your walk on the beach…they will follow Tybee Island’s open container policy for to go drinks!
