The typical Savannahian loves our beautiful city, strolling the squares in the crisp fall weather and a good cocktail made with a smooth whiskey. Luckily there is a new bar coming soon that will help craft a fine whiskey cocktail because in 2020 we could all use one!

The Trade Room at the Alida Hotel, opening on November 12th, has a lot of the things you’d expect to find in a whiskey bar…masculine decor, velvet, dark colors, brass and a certain amber glow with a smoky scent from their smoked whiskey signature cocktail. It also has a few things to help warm your soul, an outdoor area with two fire pits and lounge chairs, you can relax fireside with a nice whiskey in hand.

You will most likely find the room filled with stylish patrons snacking on dishes like BBQ rubbed salted nuts and other house made snacks, while ordering the signature, “So it Goes” or one of many whiskey flights. The Trade Room wants to help educate people about whiskey, in a fun way. It is a bar where everyone is welcome, whether you are a professional whiskey drinker or you have no whiskey knowledge. They encourage you to pull up a seat, taste, enjoy, share your feedback and feelings and repeat.

Lost Square

Make an evening out of it. You can catch the golden sunset disappearing behind the Savannah bridge while sipping a craft cocktail at Lost Square. The Lost Square is not looking for volume on their rooftop but rather smaller groups enjoying quality time with quality drinks and refined food.  Start with an pre-dinner snack of mushroom tartine which is roasted local mushrooms with thyme and garlic olive oil on a boursin cheese spread and placed on grilled Ciabatta bread. Then follow this up with dinner at The Rhett where Chef Jason Starnes is creating simple dishes with quality ingredients. Chef Starnes takes pride in everything he does and works hard to create a happy team. Those traits shine through in the taste of the food. Finally stop and sip on something smooth from the whiskey bar while exchanging ideas, conversation and fun, after all you are at The Trade Room.
