Say “hello” to the holiday’s in the best way possible by taking part of some of the great events Savannah is offering. Here is a list of some of the hottest happenings around town this month.  Remember to check back regularly as events are added as they are announced.

 

December Nights & Holiday Lights, December 16th-December 17th-6:00pm-9:00pm

December Nights & Holiday Lights will be returning to a family-oriented walk through once again this year. Festivities kickoff Friday, November 25th and run on select nights through Saturday, December 24th. This year, Holiday Lights is bigger than ever and spans nearly five acres.
Each night of Holiday Lights will feature:
-S’mores stations
-Hot chocolate and coffee bar
-Light dinner options from the Dawg House Café
-A special visit from Santa Claus!
Tickets are only available online and are sold by entry timeslot. Once inside, we encourage you to stay as long as you would like until the event ends at 9:00 p.m. General Admission Tickets are $15. Children 3 and under are free.

Twinkle Bark Stroll 2022, December 16th-December 18th-5:00pm-8:00pm

Make your adoption meet and greet a night to remember with their Twinkle Bark (and Purr) Stroll Adoption Events! For a minimum $5 donation per person, come take a walk through our lighted wonderland, see our festival of trees, and meet our adoptable pets!
Event Nights and Times:
Friday-Sunday December 9-11 and 16-18, 5 to 8 pm
Adopters will receive a special goody bag of coupons and treats from our sponsors.
Additional activities include:
Write a letter to Santa (free)
Hot Cocoa Cabana
Marshmallow Roasting
Bake Sale
Event is open to the public, even if you aren’t looking to adopt at this time.
New for 2022: Sundays are Bring Your Own Pet day. Dogs must be good with other dogs and be current on rabies vaccine.

 

Christmas at the Cathedral, December 18th-5:00pm

The Cathedral Choir and Cathedral Brass present their annual program of music for Advent and Christmas. Scripture readings juxtaposed with choral music tell the story of the Christ child from the foretelling by the prophets to the visit of the Magi. The audience also has the opportunity to join the choir, brass, and organ in singing the traditional carols of the season. Tickets needed.

Holiday Cabaret with the SCAD HoneyBees, December 20th-December 21st-7:00pm-9:00pm

Join the SCAD HoneyBees, the university’s elite performance ensemble featuring American Idol winner and SCAD grad Candice Glover, for an evening of carols and good cheer. The HoneyBees will be joined by members of the newest SCAD vocal group, the Bee Sharps, and surprise special guests.

 

Christmas Charcuterie Class, December 22nd-6:00pm-7:30pm

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas Charcuterie Class at Finches to finish out the 2022 year! This one will be a little more magical than the rest! Finches will be serving bites and booze again for your eating and drinking pleasure! We have a few different ticket options available! If you have 6 getting a table is the way to go! Holiday Evening Tours by Candlelight at Davenport, December 26th-December 30th-6:00pm-8:30pm

The historic house will be open for evening tours exploring the December celebrations of the early 19th century inhabitants of the fine brick home on Columbia Square. Topics to be considered include the meaning of the season, feasting, the Scottish influence on the family, festive attire, treatment of the household’s enslaved workers during holiday time, etc. The Dining Room table will be set for the New Year’s Day celebration and the Drawing Room will be set as if preparing for a dance. Conversations will spotlight music and festive treats including cakes, jellies and syllabub! Docents will be in authentic early 19th century costume. Tours will begin every 15 minutes from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The last entrance into the house will be at 8 p.m. The experience requires that guests be able to walk up and down stairs and maneuver in the candlelit rooms. Admission: For adults – $15 in advance and $18 at the time of the tour. Black + White NYE Ball at Bar Julian, December 31st

Be their guest as Bar Julian launches its annual Black & White NYE Ball, an epic night of luxury, opulence and liveliness, inspired by one of the most iconic parties ever thrown.  Situated riverside atop Thompson Savannah, Bar Julian offers sweeping views of the NYE fireworks show.  In the famous words of the Black & White Ball originator, it’s sure to be a “great, big, all-time spectacular” evening. Reservations include food stations, heavy hors d’oeuvres & raw bar, dessert, midnight countdown and toast, signature cocktails. Limited reserved tables available inside only.

They will be celebrating one year of working on this project just a few days after opening our dining room! It will be a night of remembrance, anticipation, celebration and…. LIBATION!

Glo Side of the Moon New Year’s Eve Party, December 31st-8:00pm-1:00am

Bring in the New Year at Electric Moon’s “GLO Side of the Moon” New Year’s Eve Party! The party will feature a live DJ, glow sticks, a photo booth, neon décor, party favors and spectacular views of the fireworks over the Savannah River at midnight. New Year’s Eve Celebration at Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden, December 31st-9:00pm-1:00am

Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden will host a special New Year’s Eve Celebration. This fun-filled, rooftop party for ages 21+ will feature sizzling live blues performances by The Eric Culberson Band, special cocktails and incredible views of the fireworks show over the Savannah River at midnight.
