Richmond Hill, Georgia is a quiet family community, located just minutes south of metropolitan Savannah. I have never really traveled to Richmond Hill for the sake of checking it out and seeing what the city has to offer. In order to Scout it out properly, I drove 20 minutes then spent about 2 hours locating a few hidden gems throughout the city. I definitely didn’t see all Richmond Hill has to offer but will look forward to exploring more.

Ella’s Richmond Hill is tucked away in a small house off the side of Ford Avenue. This is the perfect stop for a modern day taste maker. It is filled with an exciting and eclectic blend of unique home accessories, furniture, gifts, apparel, jewelry, regional foods and so many beautiful plants. It’s a shopping experience that covers all the bases.

Gigi’s Boutique is a small boutique filled with Southern hospitality. You won’t want to miss this stop where you will find size inclusive women’s clothing, adorable baby clothes, shoes, home decor and jewelry. It was almost like a personal shopping experience as Gigi herself was there with suggestions on brands that would fit well and look stylish. I left with a wish list and a pair of sandals for $24.99.

Missy Mae’s Southern Boutique is located in a home turned shop right off Ford Avenue. They have women’s clothing, jewelry, gift items and plenty of housewares. There were also 2 racks of women’s clothing on sale for $10 per piece. They have turned what use to be the kitchen into a darling room with coffee mugs, tea towels and local products. I’m sure you won’t leave empty handed. Don’t miss the upstairs nook, accessible by stairs, to the left of the building and filled with coastal decor.

Green Spork Cafe and Market is a family run business that specializes in healthy, gluten-free and vegan(ish) menu items. You can stop by this location for a smoothie, a delicious topped toast, a sandwich or a biggie salad. But if you are not there at lunch time, it is till worth a stop to stock up on gluten free cupcakes, cookies, donuts, brownies, cinnamon rolls and more. Check their social media daily to see what specials are available. I happened to get lucky and score the last tiramisu…which in itself, will keep me coming back to Richmond Hill.

Himalayan Curry Kitchen is a unique Indian and Nepali specialty dining restaurant. It reflects the unique geographical position of Nepal, which is wedged between India to the South and Tibet to the North. Likewise its cuisine is influenced by both the dishes from the Indian planes and the exotic specialties of the high Himalaya. Not only is this restaurant consistently rated 4.5 out of 5 stars but they have a phenomenal weekday lunch buffet box which can be dine in or takeout for $10.99 from Tuesday to Friday. This special is offered from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm and the day I was there  included chicken tikka masala, potato and peas veggie fritters, tandoori chicken, rice, naan and a dessert!

If you are looking for a restaurant with a little scenery then look no further than local owned Fish Tales. It is a lively waterfront eatery serving seafood in a casual space with a Caribbean vibe & outdoor seating. If you have a hankering for a good ole’ fashioned seafood basket served with coleslaw, fries and hush puppies, while sitting in a laid back tiki vibe on the water, then Fish Tales is your spot.
