About 45 minutes outside of Savannah, in Statesboro, Jarrod & Becca Creasy have a family run ranch where they work more than 800 acres and 350 head of cattle. The couple both comes from agricultural families, grew up showing livestock and studied agriculture and economics in college. Ranching is definitely in their blood and a legacy they want to pass along to their adorable 3-year old daughter Finley.
920 Cattle Company is uniquely full integrated – all animals are birthed, raised and processed within their facilities. They own their own butcher plant where they process their own meat, as well as, custom butchering for other ranchers. Recently they added lamb, hogs and chicken to their livestock portfolio. They were recently named as a top 3 finalist for the “Flavor of GA,” for their 70 year old Traditional Mild Sausage recipe. Unfortunately the COVID crisis has halted final judgement and they will have to wait a bit longer to see if they have the winning formula.
They are currently building a platform to share their knowledge with other aspiring ranchers, young and old. Through their online learning site, they are planning to launch in about a month, you will be able to find advice, curriculum for entrepreneurs and guides for kids who would like to show livestock.
You can find 920 Cattle Company produce at the Forsyth Farmers Market, Statesboro Market 2 Go, Bluffton Farmers Market, Hilton Head Island Farmers Market and they are delivering custom butcher boxes to Savannah.
