As the coronavirus pandemic continues to engulf the United States, many of us are searching for the essentials we need to be safe. The CDC has recommended cloth face coverings, gloves (change after touching each surface) and plenty of disinfectant. This is not only essential now, but will continue to be necessary even after the shelter-in-place order is lifted. Scout would like to encourage you to put together a COVID kit by purchasing the items necessary from local businesses. Check out below for some great local Savannah resources.

MMB By Hand – Melissa is doing her best to provide masks to all who need them in between donations to local healthcare workers. These cotton face masks with nose adjuster and filter pocket are not only efficient but so cute. Check out MMB website to purchase a mask for $5. While you are purchasing your mask, don’t forget to check out all the other great products. Also, Melissa has been kind enough to put together a very comprehensive tutorial on how to make your own mask…if you are a DIY’er.

Ghost Coast Distillery – When you think of pulling up to Ghost Coast you don’t really think about hand sanitizer. But that is exactly what they are doing for the good people of Savannah during Corona. If you find yourself running low give them a call at (912) 298-0071 and they will accept payment over the phone, then offer curbside, no-contact pickup.

Ellen Claire Soapery – Ellen is a Registered Nurse as well as a creator of hand crafted skin care and bath products using natural ingredients. Currently available is a hand sanitizer mist that leaves hands sanitary, soft and healthy. It can also be used to spray surfaces such as shopping carts, steering, wheels, etc. Simply spray area, allow to dry and wipe down.  She will also have hand sewn masks for women, men and children later this week.
