Shakera Greene owns Boaw Fitness which is the only all women’s lifting gym in the area. Boaw prides themselves on building the strength of women both mentally and physically. They provide a safe and judgement free place for clients to reach their fitness goals, while maintaining an open line of communication with their trainer. A social media platform is available for members to share ideas, stories, encouragement and accountability. The trainers regularly check in with their clients to make sure that they are on track throughout the week, not solely when they are at sessions. Services offered include personal, group, and virtual training. The personal training classes are offered in a 3:1 style setting. Classes are 45 minutes and meet twice weekly. They also offer group classes with early morning and after work hours to make it easy on your schedule and to allow you a fun way to get fit while building connections with others. Included in all sessions is an accountability group, as well as, all new clients receive a 30 day meal plan option. Boaw Fitness is designed for every woman, from teens and young adults, to the career woman and beyond. Mrs. Greene states, “We are great because our clients are great.”

Ashley Harvey is the owner of Active by Ashley. Ms. Harvey has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instruction. All three of these educational backgrounds provide science-based workouts that improve overall health and wellness. Ashley provides one-on-one personal training sessions and partner training sessions (because working out with a buddy is always more fun!) as well as custom workouts and nutritional guidance. Every client begins with a complimentary consultation in which you go over your goals, fitness background, current fitness level, and most importantly, your medical background. This gives Ashley the opportunity to make sure she can create a plan that is safe and effective for each client. You will discuss how many times per week you should be active. Each client is different depending on your goals and schedule. Once you have a schedule in place, get ready to work. Be ready to challenge your mind and body. Be ready to sweat! Ashley’s goal is to teach clients to train properly. She likes to teach clients HOW to workout so that in the future, they can workout on their own. Ashley states, “I think one of my biggest responsibilities as a fitness professional is to educate my clients on how to workout so that they can maintain a healthy lifestyle whether they are working out with or without me.” First consultation is always free then Active by Ashley offers three forms of training. She offers one-on-one training, partner training, and custom workout plans. Her personal training sessions are available in packages and custom plans are available in 4-week programs.
