Scout was honored to be invited to the preview for the newest addition to the Savannah food scene, Ardsley Station. They have done a beautiful job of reinventing the space, gorgeous tile floors, striking lighting and a warm, inviting atmosphere, they put great thought & care into every inch of the space. Outside, we got to see the new retractable awning in action, a perfect addition to the calming outdoor space which will allow for shade on hot summer Savannah days and the perfect place to grab a local brew and watch the storm pass.
Tyler Kopkas, partners, tells us they are officially opening this Saturday, April 24 at 4:00 for dinner. Walk-ins only for now but they will be taking limited reservations soon. Based on our experience be sure to get get there early, they will fill up fast and stay that way!
Our job is tough, you know, so you always have to start the night with a cocktail! While the preview had a limited menu, their cocktails were inventive and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the “Get Smashed,” a bubbly, refreshing concoction with fresh berries and limoncello. And bonus points for serving a pre-meal treat of salty, smoked pecans and olives.
Our dinner started with a healthy “Spring Harvest Salad” with fresh local ingredients and just the right amount of dressing. We also indulged in peel & eat shrimp, you could taste the Pacific Coast influence with flavors of lemongrass, harissa and fennel.
For dinner we were presented with Smoked Chicken Thigh with Potato Salad and Crab Risotto. The flavors of the crab risotto were on point, indulgent, delicious and creamy. The chicken thigh had a faint smoke taste & the potato salad was a dill-icious and unique combination of herbs and spices.
And Pastry Chef Natasha did not disappoint with the Pot de Creme and Tart that were as pleasing to the eye as they were our stomachs. You can see and taste the love and expertise that went into creating the Ardsley Station concept. We look forward to see this establishment thrive and grow in the Savannah food scene!
