Let’s celebrate October by taking part in some of Savannah’s great local events. Here is a list of some of the hottest happenings around town this month.  Remember to check back regularly as events are added as they are announced.

Poppell Farms opens for the 2021 Fall Season, Weekends Oct. 2-Oct. 31 2021

Opening October 2-31 for the Fall season! Daytime fun: Explore a 10-acre maze, wagon rides and a Pumpkin Patch!  Stay after dark on Friday and Saturday nights to explore the maze with a flashlight (it’s NOT haunted). Beginning October 8, after dark brave the Haunted Trail through the woods!  Areas of the farm are lit for visitors to enjoy some activities after dark.


Savannah Stage Company Presents Dracula, October 29 & 30th-Times Vary

Savannah Stage Company is thrilled to present Dracula! Adapted from Bram Stoker’s famous novel by Catherine Bush, directed by Lexi Balaoing Ambrose, and featuring some of your SSC favorites, this is a production you’ll want to sink your teeth into. Running October 22, 23, 29 & 30 at Savannah Repertory Theatre’s Playshop.


SCAD Savannah Film Festival, October 28th-October 30th

Featuring the best in independent and innovative film from around the world. Hosted by SCAD, the annual festival presents a full range of cinematic creativity from professionals and emerging student filmmakers. http://filmfest.scad.edu.

South Georgia State Fair, October 28th-November 7th-(times vary)

The 2021 South Georgia State Fair is held starting October 28th to November 7th at 105 Fort Argyle Road, Savannah, GA. This event is filled with live entertainment including carnival rides, games, and food.



Electric Moon to Host Dog Friendly “Costumes on the Woof”, October 28th, 5:00pm-7:00pm

Electric Moon Skytop Lounge and The Moon Deck at Plant Riverside District will partner with Woof Gang Bakery to host a special Halloween event for dogs and their owners to enjoy. The first 100 participants will receive festive treats, including sweets for humans and special dog treats from Woof Gang Bakery. The highlight of the event will be the costume contest, where dogs and their owners will be judged on the creativity and originality of their coordinating costumes by a panel of local judges. A $25 participation fee will be collected at the door. All proceeds from the event will be donated to local, no-kill animal rescue organizations. This event is open to the public.

Haint Misbehavin’: Connect Savannah’s Biggest Halloween Party, October 28th-7:00pm-10:00pm

Join them for a ~spooky~ night at Kehoe Iron Work on Oct. 28 from 7-10 p.m. Savannah’s biggest Halloween party will feature music from local artists, food, and plenty of drinks!

Jurassic Quest at Savannah Convention Center, October 29-October 31-(times vary)

Jurassic Quest is ROARING through Savannah, GA! Wear your costume for a chance to win a prize and celebrate Halloween with us! The costume contest will happen 3 times per day after the Raptor show. Their  event features more rides, activities, & dinosaurs than ever before. .Timed entry eliminates crowds and allows all guests to enjoy their Quest in a safe and accessible environment. Savannah Ballet Presents Sleepy Hollow, October 29th & October 30th-1:00pm

Savannah Ballet Theatre is back with their original adaptation of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! This spooky ballet tells the story of Ichabod Crane and the legend of the Headless Horseman in upstate New York. Join SBT for this gothic tale filled with mystery and suspense! Performed by SBT’s professional dancers, this production is perfect for all ages. $20+ reserved.


Spooky Soirée at Hewitt Oaks, October 29th-6:30pm-8:30pm

Southbound Brewing Co. is teaming up with the Red Shoe Society of the Coastal Empire to present this year’s Halloween costume party! There will be live music starting @7pm featuring Ember City, a grunge/alternative rock starring Sarah Poole and Ryan Taito. Halloween Bash at Plant Riverside, October 30th-7:00pm-10:00pm

Plant Riverside District will host two exciting Halloween-themed events on Saturday, October 30, both of which are open to the public. Electric Moon Skytop Lounge at Plant Riverside District will host a lively Halloween party and costume contest with amazing prizes on the rooftop of the Power Plant Building overlooking the Savannah River. This spooky, fun-filled event for ages 21 and over will feature a DJ throughout the evening. $20 cover charge at the door. In addition, rock-soul band LaFaye & The Fellas will perform a free live concert at the Pavilion Tent along the Savannah riverfront while dressed up in Halloween costumes from 7-10 p.m. Cirque Divina will showcase a free Halloween Spectacular cirque show along the riverfront at 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Women in Savannah Walking Tour with Art & Ambl, October 30th-11:00am

This limited-offer 1.5 hour, female-focused walk through the cityscape of Savannah celebrates the fascinating tales of women in this town – both familiar and new. Special guest historian, Dr. Lizzie Rogers, will join Dr. Nicole Blackwood as they curate a tour experience centered on women’s voices and leadership. Together we’ll explore the strong women who both guarded and crafted the city in various ways, and who often defied expectations through their wit, ingenuity, and courage. Stories of intrigue, drama, and heroism will be grounded in scholarly research and conceived as a fun conversation between friends. This tour will make you both laugh and cry, and leave you rethinking the way women contributed to the fabric of this beautiful city and beyond. And though we focus on female stories, all are welcome! 

Skidaway Island State Park Trunk-or-Treat, October 30th-1:00pm-8:00pm

Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 1 to 8 PM, Skidaway Island State Park will be hosting Trunk or Treat! There will be lots of outdoor activities that are sure to make for a fun night. They will have carnival-style games (1:00 – 4:30), a dog costume parade with an award for best costume, a pumpkin carving contest, kids’ pumpkin coloring, Trunk-or-Treat (4:30-6:30), and an outdoor Halloween-themed film the entire family can enjoy. If you would like to give out candy or to sign up for the pumpkin carving contest, please call the park office or email ariel.gernatt@dnr.ga.gov to sign up. Pumpkin carving contest entry fee is $7.00. Prizes to be announced. Wear your best costumes, bring your whole family (including your dog), and be ready for a night of fun!
Admission Fee: $5 per vehicle for parking. Dogs must be leashed.
