Plant Riverside Oktoberfest September 24th-October 29th

The second annual Oktoberfest celebration, which will showcase a blend of old and new German traditions from Saturday, September 24 through Saturday, October 29. All family-friendly festivities are free and open to the public and will take place at Plant Riverside District, located on Savannah’s historic riverfront at 400 W. River St. Every Saturday from 1-4 p.m., the Pavilion Tent along the riverfront at Plant Riverside District will feature free live polka music by Bob and the Polka Dots as well as a free keg toss, bratwurst eating contests and stein holding competitions. Throughout Oktoberfest, the exceptional restaurants at Plant Riverside District will serve specialty beers as well as food and beverage options for all ages.

 

Savannah Pride Festival 2022, October 27th-October 29th

Join the First City Pride Center for Savannah Pride 2022! October 27th-29th. This is it…The big one is back! Savannah Pride Festival. With lots of new content, including a virtual pride opportunities and Pride AFTER DARK at 8PM!Celebrate your Pride with musical performances, carnival games, costumes and a whole lot of fun because in Savannah Halloween belongs to Pride. Want to be a part of Savannah Pride?

 

Ultimate Halloween Bash at Moon Deck Plant Riverside, October 29th-7:00pm-1:00am

This spooky, fun-filled event for ages 21+ will feature live music by Super Deluxe, a Charleston, S.C. band that performs a lively mix of pop, Top 40, ‘80s hits, Motown, classic rock, hip hop, oldies, beach music, soul, funk, disco and reggae. A live DJ will close out the night with high-energy dance music, plus a photo booth will be available throughout the evening. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best Halloween costume and to participate in the annual Halloween costume contest. The first place winner will be awarded a free one-night stay at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. Additional prizes will be available. $10 cover charge at the door.

 

TERROR VISION FRIGHT FEST 2022 – OCTOBER 29TH

The Terror Vision Fright Fest is back yet again (formerly known as the Graveface Fright Fest but why keep that name when they now have a TV shop in Sav)! They used to do this event at the Lucas but this year are doing it at the Ben Tucker Theater in the Savannah Cultural Arts Center at 201 Montgomery St from 2pm-midnight on October 29th.
That’s 10 solid hours of creepy fun including 6 Horror Flicks (none of which have been screened in Savannah – at least since I’ve been here the past 12 years) + several Merch Vendors (holler if you want to be one – terrorvisionvids@gmail.com) + themed food/bev + Raffles for Awesome Prizes before each film + a Fake Trailer contest with some big Gift Packages (email to get in on trailer contest).

 

Marsh Monster Masquerade, October 29th-11:00am-6:00pm

Monsters of all ages are invited to Skidaway Island State Park this fall. They will be having a spooky mask decorating contest for children and adults, children’s pumpkin decorating, a dog costume contest, fair-style games, prizes, and more. A trunk-or-treat from 4 PM to 6 PM will cap off the evening. So, don your best costume and bring the whole family out to enjoy the cool autumn air, marsh views, plenty of Halloween candy, and a haunting good time in the park!

Where’s Noble Bones? A Bone Chilling Scavenger Hunt!, October 29th-9:00am-4:30pm

Come help us find Noble Jones, he has lost all of his Noble Bones! Every Saturday in October Wormsloe State Historic Site will be holding a spooky scavenger hunt. It gives families a perfect way to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful natural and cultural resources here at Wormsloe while having some fun! Guests that wish to participate in this scavenger hunt will make their way to the Museum where they will find two QR codes. These will provide detailed instructions and their first clue to begin their journey to find Noble Bones. Make sure and download a QR reader if you phone’s camera doesn’t already read a QR code. The first clue will leave you to the first “Bones” family member hidden somewhere on the main trail. Near this skeleton will be the next QR code with the next clue. After you locate the fourth Bone’s family member, it will lead you to your final destination. No additional program fees apply to participate in the scavenger hunt beyond admission to the site. The scavenger hunt will be available during operation hours each Saturday in October. Every Saturday will offer a different experience with unique locations and clues for locating the skeletons.

 

Savannah Pride- PAWrade, October 29th-11:00am-12:00pm

Pride’s really gone to the dogs! Bring your furry best friend to participate in the Pawrade, complete with a doggie costume contest. The winning pooch gets a prize from Central Animal Hospital!

Coastal Empire Wrestling has revealed 5 of the 8 action-packed matches for October 29th! They will be having a costume contest, a 50/50 raffle, and concessions from one of the most requested food trucks in Savannah, as well!

Cougar Birthday Party at Oatland Wildlife Center, October 29th-11:00am

​Come join them as they celebrate Olympia & Rainier’s 1st birthday! They couldn’t be happier with their fun-loving additions to Oatland Island and will be celebrating their first year around the sun with “presents” and “cake” for the cougars, as well as a scavenger hunt for guests. There will be facepainting, popcorn, ice cream and even some food tucks on property to keep up the festive mood throughout the day.

2022 Witches Dance and Magic Crawl, October 30th-2:00pm

Yes, witches, it is ON! Calling all witches, wizards, warlocks and weirdos for the Third Annual Witch Dance to enchant Savannah with a flash mob to scare the dead and invigorate the living. Small witches and fur witches welcome! Gather on the east side of the Confederate monument Sunday 10/30 at 2pm for a flash mob booty shake with live drumming provided by the rhythm magicians of Samba Savannah! Easy choreography will be posted below or just show up and follow along. Afterwards stroll up the Bull Street corridor to visit with bewitching businesses like Ordinary Magic, Henny Penny, Woofgang Bakery, and Foxy Loxy before heading over to Cosmic Corner on 38th Street, where the Samhain Festival begins at 3pm.

The Full Monty, November 7th-November 20th

The Full Monty is a musical with book by Terrence McNally and score by David Yazbek. In this Americanized musical stage version adapted from the 1997 British film of the same name, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers, low on both cash and prospects, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the show, working through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie. Tickets $20

The Savannah Boat Parade of Lights, headed by the Savannah Harbor Foundation, has also greatly benefited the charities it has contributed to!
