The weather is beautiful and we are looking at plenty of fall fun opportunities in the month of October. It took a few months but local businesses are really hitting their stride with figuring out how to host safe, COVID friendly events. Check out the list and purchase, mark your calendar or try something new this month. Be sure to check back as this list will be updated as new fun arises.


Holiday Farms Opening Day on October Weekends from 9am-6pm (no tickets or reservations needed)

Holiday Farms in Ridgeland, SC, has announced they are opening their 40 acres again this year. Please note the following open dates and times are for this season only October 2nd-31st, they will be open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9-6 and Sundays 12-6. Live music by the Nautical Wheelers on Saturdays 11-3 and Sundays 1-4, as well as, concessions Thursdays-Sundays 11-5. COVID restrictions will be posted closer to opening date. They will follow all required state mandated guidelines.

Madrac Farms 2020 Pumpkin Patch October 8th from 10:00am to 6:00pm through November 8th

Join them for the 2020 Pumpkin Patch at Madrac Farms. Georgia grown pumpkins, corn maze, hay play, tire playground, super slide, goats and more. Just $5 per person. COVID restrictions apply.


Hewitt Oaks’ Spooky Bash & Costume Dinner Party on October 30th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Hewitt Oaks’ Spooky Bash is an indoor/outdoor Halloween extravaganza featuring tantalizing hors d’oeuvres served by our zombies, a two-course plated dinner, and dangerously tasty signature cocktails. You’ll also get the chance to showcase your costumes at spooky photo op areas, with prizes for the most spine-tingling and creative ensembles! While costumes are encouraged, they aren’t required. They want everyone to come out and have a fabulous time, and they’d much rather you join us sans costume than not come at all. Cost is $79 per person or $150 per couple and includes all food and complimentary beverages. 21 and over only, ID required. Tickets are non-refundable.

Savannah Carnaval a Fundraising Fiesta on October 30th from 7:00pm to 11:00pm

It’s time to celebrate (safely, of course) with everyone’s favorite service & therapy dog organization, SD Gunner Fund. The award-winning Savannah Carnaval is back and more action packed than ever before. Join them at Starland Yard to witness jaw-dropping acrobatics and jugglers from First City Fitness and Aerial Elements. Take your picture with real-life mermaids and painted ladies. Explore your latin-inspired dance moves with DJ Will Smith, dress to impress to be entered in their first ever costume contest. Bonaventure Cemetery Tour & Dinner on October 31st from 5:00pm to 10:30pm

After the gates lock to the public, the rare full Hunter’s Blue Moon will light the evening’s path and hypnotic stories shared by storyist Shannon Scott. The terrifying tour will be followed by a private foodies dinner complete with fire pits, macabre antiquities, show-n-tell style and magic performed by illusionist David Jowers. Tricks, Treats & Trains at Georgia State Railroad Museum on October 31st from 10:00am to 12:00pm

The cost to attend Tricks, Treats, and Trains is $5 per person for all participants, ages eighteen months and older. A discounted combination ticket including admission to Savannah Children’s Museum and Tricks, Treats, and Trains is $10 per person. Pre-registration is required at Registration will close at midnight the day before the event. Admission is free to Coastal Heritage Society members. Savannah Children’s Museum will also be open and offering Halloween-themed activities throughout the day. Savannah Children’s Museum will be open from 9:30am-2:30pm and is an additional fee. For the safety of all staff and guests, we will be observing social distancing protocols and implementing enhanced sanitizing procedures. All participants are required to wear a face-covering for the safety of others.

Yoga + Bubbles The Grey Open Air Yoga to support The Deep Center on October 31st from 10:00am to 11:30am

Join The Grey restaurant and Kelley Boyd of Savannah Yoga Center for an outdoor all levels yoga class in the Yard to support The Deep Center. $30 per person and please bring yoga mat, full water bottle and towel.
