Get ready for an exciting addition to Cohen’s Retreat’s already impressive lineup…welcome The Little House Bakery owned and operated by Sarah Floyd. Ms. Floyd chose the name The Little House Bakery based on childhood memories of playing in the backyard and pretending to bake. Her love of baking started right there in that play kitchen and continued on with cherished time spent baking with her mom and grandmother.
Sarah started her baking business in 2011 when she was 13 years old, selling cupcakes to family and friends. She continued to grow her business throughout high school and college while expanding her variety of customized baked goods and selling both locally and online. Sarah graduated from Georgia Southern University with degrees in entrepreneurship and hospitality management which have served her well in her new partnership with Cohen’s Retreat. The partnership is built on a shared interest in art, food and community making Cohen’s the perfect spot for the new storefront.
When I asked what type of goodness we could expect from the TLHB, her mouth-watering answer was cookies, muffins and brownies, as well as, coffee and milkshakes to name a few. Sarah specializes in decorated sugar cookies and Rocky Road brownies, cheese straws are also very popular. You can get your goodies to go or they offer a seating area that accommodates social distancing and as a bonus they offer children’s seating.
The Little House Bakery opens on July 8th and will have hours from Wednesday to Saturday 11:00 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday’s 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Specialty orders are also available through this website.
Stop by…grab some baked goods and congratulate Sarah on turning her passion into a career.
