Savannah Philharmonic Free Weekend Concerts in September

Savannah Philharmonic will perform several free outdoor Savannah concerts this Fall 2022. Some concerts will be in neighborhoods around Savannah as part of their Phil the Neighborhoods series.

Moon River Brewing Kicks off Oktoberfest, September 24th-26th, October 1st-3rd

They’re celebrating OKTOBERFEST in the BIERGARTEN three weekends in a row— starting next Friday 9/16 at the six o’clock toast with the return of SAVANNAH FESTBIER and German food specials all weekend long. PROST!

Two Tides Oktoberfest, September 24th-12:00pm-8:00pm

It’s ‘bout that time! Save the date for their 5th annual Oktoberfest. Saturday, September 24th. 12pm-8pm. Event glassware (you’re not going to want to miss out on this year’s design), pretzels, brats, live music, and our stein-holding contest hosted by the one-and-only James Massey.


Plant Riverside Kicks Off Oktoberfest September 24th-October 29th

The second annual Oktoberfest celebration, which will showcase a blend of old and new German traditions from Saturday, September 24 through Saturday, October 29. All family-friendly festivities are free and open to the public and will take place at Plant Riverside District, located on Savannah’s historic riverfront at 400 W. River St. Every Saturday from 1-4 p.m., the Pavilion Tent along the riverfront at Plant Riverside District will feature free live polka music by Bob and the Polka Dots as well as a free keg toss, bratwurst eating contests and stein holding competitions. Throughout Oktoberfest, the exceptional restaurants at Plant Riverside District will serve specialty beers as well as food and beverage options for all ages.


Savannah Day of Peace, September 25th-12:00pm-4:00pm

The Savannah Day of Peace will feature a Peace Parade led by Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and Savannah City Council members, Courageous Conversation Circles designed to encourage deeper dialogue to promote peacebuilding, a wellness area for mental health and a Youth Artists Corner. The 2022 Peacebuilder Award Honoree will also be announced, and the City of Savannah’s new Peace Proclamation will be on display.

“Savannah is known as Georgia’s First City, and we’re deeply honored to be the first city in the Peach State to celebrate the International Day of Peace in an intentional way,” said Jill Cheeks, Executive Director of The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire, Inc. “We want to bring people together to build relationships among citizens, focus on the good in our community, celebrate local peacebuilders and increase the peace. This event is a coordinated effort by the community to counter violence and to save lives.”

The Mediation Center plans to maintain the momentum and to create a larger movement by organizing monthly peacebuilding events at different locations across Chatham County. These events will feature neighborhood-based activities designed to engage local community members, youth, faith leaders, law enforcement, business and professional associations in peacebuilding efforts.

Salts & Suds at Service Brewing, September 25th-12:00pm

Join them for Service Brewing’s Mindful Making Series – Salts & Suds with alchemist Jovan Sage on Sunday, Sept 25th at 12pm. This $25 creative workshop includes one free beer and offers all the ingredients to blend a magical bath salt formula with essential oils, flower essences and medicinal plants. Jovan Sage is an alchemist, plant tender, and healing facilitator based in Savannah, Georgia. As the Alchemist behind Sage’s Circle, Sage guides people to discover their own alchemy by reclaiming their connection to their intuition, body, and earth.

4 Week Hand Building Course with Lofire : Every Tuesday in October, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Lofire is  very excited to offer this hand building course. This October they will meet every Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00, (10/4, 10/11, 10/18 & 10/25). Each week Lauren will teach you how to make different items that will give you a solid collection by the end and allow you to continue your craft after the course.

Week 2- LAMP

Each student will get the chance to try the wheel for 30 minutes of the entire course.


3rd Annual Oktoberfest at Hewitt Oaks, October 6th-6:30pm-9:00pm

A festive evening featuring all the German classics! Snap pics at their festive photo op areas, play beer hall games, tap your foot or dance along to the polka music, & watch Chef Christopher prepare your dinner on an open stovetop! A NIGHT IN THE GARDEN is an Immersive Fashion Experience and Masquerade Ball, October 14th-7:00pm

A Night in the Garden is an experiential fashion event and masquerade ball that offers guests an immersion in artistry and imagination unlike anything the Hostess City has ever seen. This event features a runway fashion show, aerialist, burlesque and magic performances, and music from live local bands and DJs along with entertainers from NYC. The evening is meant for indulging in escapism as avant-garde costumes and masks are encouraged. Prepare to dance the night away at this uniquely Savannah event.

2022 Annual Halloween Hike at Oatland Wildlife Center, October 14th-October 15th-5:00pm-8:00pm

Advanced ticket reservations are Required and will be available for two sessions per evening to spread out visitation, reduce gatherings and allow proper parking. There will be no day of, or onsite sales. Tickets are non-refundable and will only be valid during the specified time frame and date purchased.


HUGS to Host Boo Bash Masquerade & Casino Night Fundraiser, October 14th-7:00pm-11:00pm

The fun-filled evening will feature catering by Kirk Blaine, open bar, music, entertainment by Master of Ceremonies Renee LaSalle, casino games by Monte Carlo Productions, and big-ticket raffle prizes. Guests can “buy” one raffle ticket per every $10,000 in funny money from their casino winnings. This event is open to the public for people 21 years and over.

HUGS is a local non-profit organization that provides affordable and accessible professional behavioral health counseling and addiction recovery services to children and adults. 100% of individual ticket and sponsorship sales proceeds will benefit Commitment to Community: The Campaign for HUGS. The campaign’s fundraising goal of $4M over the next five years will help expand HUGS’ service areas and establish an endowment fund.

Coastal Heritage Society Presents Frogwarts, October 16th-11:00am-3:00pm

Georgia State Railroad Museum and Savannah Children’s Museum will transform into a magical Harry Potter-themed experience during “Frogwarts” on Sunday, October 16th from 11 am to 3 pm.
This year’s classes will include Wand Making, Potions, Fortune Telling, Defense Against the Dark Arts: Glow in the Dark Fun!, Care of Magical Creatures with Callaway Critters, Quill Writing, Herbology, Muggle Studies and Quidditch. Attendees can take a ride on our diesel locomotive, the Frogwarts Express or visit Ingotts Wizarding Bank. Attendees can also visit the Owlery with Georgia Southern University’s Center for Wildlife Education and enjoy a musical selection from Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts’ Garrison Voices.


Blues, Brews, BBQ & Bourbon, October 22nd-11:00am-3:00pm

CCA Georgia Presents: Blues, Brews, BBQ & Bourbon. If you love craft beer, live music, world class BBQ, and delicious whiskey, this event is for you! They are putting on an event unlike anything Savannah has seen before. When you come, you will have unlimited tastings of over 50 craft beers, multiple whiskeys, and other drinks. They have secured some of the best Texas Style BBQ vendors in the Southeast to sell food on site as well.
What To Expect:
Drinks: A big festival style tent housing dozens of beverage suppliers all providing unlimited samples of their products including craft beer, whiskey, and possibly a few other spirits.
Live Music: We will have 3 local bands each playing live music on a centrally located stage

Victory North’s – Rock and Roll Trick or Treat, October 27th-7:00pm

A one-night-only Tribute Band Costume Party featuring many of the city’s favorite musicians performing the songs of iconic, beloved bands. While long time locals look forward to next year’s planned reopening of the Jinx, indie concert promoter Knocked Out Loaded joins forces with premier showcase venue Victory North and online alternative weekly paper the Savannahian to pay homage to that intimate music club’s longstanding Halloween tradition: a one-night-only Tribute Band Costume Party featuring many of the city’s favorite musicians performing the songs of iconic, beloved bands.

Marsh Monster Masquerade, October 29th-11:00am-6:00pm

Monsters of all ages are invited to Skidaway Island State Park this fall. They will be having a spooky mask decorating contest for children and adults, children’s pumpkin decorating, a dog costume contest, fair-style games, prizes, and more. A trunk-or-treat from 4 PM to 6 PM will cap off the evening. So, don your best costume and bring the whole family out to enjoy the cool autumn air, marsh views, plenty of Halloween candy, and a haunting good time in the park!
