Have you experienced SUP? What if I told you it was a glorious way to see a landscape, better than boating or driving. It’s a 360-degree experience, with beautiful land and sea spread all around you. If this got your attention…then let Rachel Cantore of Paddle Fused Fitness show you how to experience standup paddle boarding – or SUP, as it is known. SUP is a form of an ancient Polynesian sport that was re-popularized in Hawaii in the early 2000s by surfers. In recent years, SUP has taken off, its appeal wrapping the globe, from Australia to the Caribbean as a way for fitness enthusiasts to find a quiet and meditative experience and also one heck of a workout.

Ready to get started? First, read the Q&A with Rachel below and testimonials then head to PFF to check out the class schedule and sign up. The classes happen on the May River and the paddle boards and equipment, basic paddling instruction and fitness component are provided. Grab some comfortable clothes (such as workout clothes), a swimsuit or something you can move well in and don’t mind if you get wet and have a fun, memorable experience.

As a bonus, Scout together with Paddle Fused Fitness is offering one lucky reader a “Paddling Adventure for 2“.  Follow us @ScoutSavannah912 or @paddlefusedfitness for details.

Do you have to have a certain skill set prior to signing up?

Anyone can join us for a Paddle Fused Fitness class whether you have experience paddle boarding or not. Most exercises are able to be modified or adapted to the individual. What’s great about paddle boarding is that you can sit, stand or kneel, even lay down on the boards. In order to stand up, you will need to come to your knees for a brief period of time. We’ve had individuals who are athletes, as well as those with knee and hip replacements or limitations successfully join a class.

Are there different levels of classes offered?

All classes will include basic SUP instruction, a paddle out to destination on the water, then a workout.

What are the physical benefits to your classes?

Great core, glutes, and overall total body workout. Good for balance and stability. Have fun while working out. Get fit and active outdoors in nature and sunshine! Great for physical and mental health.

What are some of the other services you offer?

We also offer SUP (stand up paddle boarding) lessons, tours, group events and team building paddles, sunrise/sunset paddles. There’s also Adult Gymnastics and small group training. This fall we will be offering a Paddle Fused Fitness certification too.

These testimonials are a great way to get a sense of the professionalism, dedication and care that Rachel has for each and every client:
