Catch a concert from Monkey Man, a Rolling Stones Tribute Band, live from your boat or virtually for you land lovers. Join Caretta Research Project for a concert on the river Saturday, September 19th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Herb River, 7th Dock from the Wilmington River. The Caretta Research Project is celebrating 48 years of sea turtle research and conservation on the Wassaw NWR. Fusion Fit Training & Stand and Paddle are hosting another season of standup paddleboarding and fitness experiences on Friday, September 18th starting at 12:00pm or Sunday, September 20th starting at 6:45am and at 8:15am. Tickets are $40 and include basic SUP instruction, fitness introduction, paddle out on the May River and SUP fitness workout targeting the entire body especially abs, glutes and core. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced level paddlers and fitness levels. (If you own your own paddleboard you’re welcome to join as well, price will be adjusted). They meet and launch off the Bluffton Oyster Company dock in Bluffton SC. Length approx 90 minutes total (includes instruction and intro). Max 10 participants.

26th Annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival is being reimagined in 2020, due to limitations on large gatherings and concerns about public health the festival will kick off on Friday, September 18th at 8:00am. The Beaufort Shrimp Festival will not be a single weekend event but will span three successive weeks. Shrimp Festival Season will celebrate the fall shrimp season and highlight the region’s culinary traditions. They invite locals and Southeastern visitors to restaurants, shops and outdoor venues across the Beaufort region to enjoy the best of Lowcountry food and lifestyle. Throughout Shrimp Festival, participating restaurants region-wide will feature a specially priced fresh shrimp “tasting menu” item and entrée and local shops will feature seafood themed promotions. The special day will include boiled peanuts from C+C Nut Factory from 12-3pm, brats, pretzels and beer cheese from Bowtie BBQ. Special beer releases and plenty of yard games will also be found.

Service Brewing is hosting the official start of Oktoberfest Saturday, Sept 19th! They’ll have great music, brats, pretzels and of course, plenty of cold Oktoberfest Beer! Grab Brats from 2:30pm-8:30pm. Farm Bluffton will be grilling homemade sausages cooked in their Oktoberfest Märzen Lager, as well as, serving delicious pretzels made by their friends at The Grey Market (vegan sausages will also be available). DJ Miamiwill be spinning all your favorite hits and then some from 2:30pm-5:00pm! Damon and The Shitkickers, voted Best Local Country, or as they call it, Outlaw Country will hit the stage 6:00pm-8:30pm.

Savannah Family Free Weekend at the Jepson Center runs Friday through Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The weekend of free admission to the Jepson Center is for Savannah and Chatham County families to enjoy the exhibition ‘Cut and Paste: Works of Paper’ and provide fun, informal learning experiences. Face coverings are required for the duration of your visit.
