Picasso to Hockney: Modern Art on Stage Free Family Weekend at Jepson Center – April 16 to April 18, 12:00pm-5:00pm

Local residents are invited to visit the Jepson Center free of charge during this three-day weekend to experience the exhibition Picasso to Hockney: Modern Art On Stage. Take a scavenger hunt based on the exhibition and pick up a free art-making kit for families to enjoy at home. Theater arts and fashion displays by local students will be featured each afternoon.



Potable Gold, Savannah Madeira Tradition at The Davenport House Museum – April 16, 22, 20, 5:30pm

Experience the historic atmosphere of the Davenport House while learning about and tasting a unique and flavorful wine. Patrons are oriented to the long and rich tradition of Madeira (wine) as it relates to the history of Savannah and then they will participate in a Madeira party. During the experience they will sample two types of Madeira and see the historic house at dusk including spaces usually off-limits to museum guests. The performance requires that guests be able to walk up and down stairs and maneuver in the candlelit rooms.  Price is $22 and limited to 10 guests.


Herd It Here Farm Grand Opening Celebration – April 17, 10am-6pm

Alpaca the family and make a short 1.5 hour drive to the farm in Cottageville, SC where you will be introduced to all of their four-legged family. Meet Alpacas up close and personal (you’ve never felt anything this soft!), feed their fainting goats (be careful, they scare easy) and meet the beautiful Silkie chickens! They will also have educational presentations about all the animals, goat-yoga, and other demonstrations on felting and spinning luxurious alpaca fiber. On the farm you can visit their gift shop and check out alpaca gloves, scarves and other clothing available for purchase.
Activities for the kids will include face painting, balloon twisting, arts and crafts and lots of open space! Grab a bite from one of the food truck vendors: MacDaddy, Stuffed Charleston and Mora Ice Cream (vegan options available). And possibly most important…don’t forget to stop by the alpaca selfie booth for a picture to remember your visit. Purchase tickets here, adults $10.50, children (3-12) $5.25, under 3 and military, first responders, educators, front line medical workers are free.

Drink specials, vendors, adoptable dogs, raffles & more. Bring your dogs out for a great time, A portion of sales will be donated back to HSGS.
