Eat Drink & Be Giving to benefit Greenbriar Children’s Center and DUETkids.org, December 9th 6:00pm-8:00pm

Please join them for holiday cocktails, canapes, and carols to benefit Greenbriar Children’s Center and DUETkids.org from 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 920 East Victory Drive in Savannah, GA. Piano performances, Christmas carols, and a silent auction in seasonal decorated, historic southern mansion to benefit musical education and other programs for children who are at risk, underserved, DFACs, homeless and low income families in Savannah. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased here.

SMF Jazz Academy Fall Concert, December 10th-7:00pm

Featuring five jazz combos and two melodica ensembles, students in Savannah’s only free after-school jazz program will present a program featuring a diverse selection of music from the jazz tradition. Repertoire will include traditional New Orleans tunes and the music of early jazz composers such as Lovie Austin and Fats Waller, as well as, songs from mid-century jazz giants like John Coltrane and Mary Lou Williams. Students have spent the fall in weekly rehearsals and lessons learning about jazz history, style and performance, as well as honing their individual instrumental skills. SMF Jazz Academy accepts students from all levels, so please join us in celebrating our students as they begin their journey into this amazing music! This is a free event held at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center.

Graveface Oddities Market / Horrormas 2, December 11th (times vary)

Odd Savannah and Greaveface have curated a list of vendors for the inaugural Graveface Oddities Market / Horrormas 2 that takes place on Dec 11th from 12-5 at the @lodgeofsorrows. There’s an early bird entry option and an all-day pass that gets you into the “Horrormas” sideshow that takes place at the museum at 7pm. They’ve teamed up with Dead City Collective – DCC for the sideshow. Grab early bird + sideshow tix online at gravefacemuseum.com. If you’re an oddities vendor and you want to be a part of this, plz get in touch. General admission tickets will be available at the door. Twinkle Bark Stroll 2021, December 11th (4:30pm-8pm) ,12th (4:30pm-7pm)

Bring your family and friends for an evening stroll among our festival of trees and holiday lights to benefit their homeless pets. Make your adoption meet and greet a night to remember with our Twinkle Bark (and Purr) Stroll Adoption Events. For a minimum $5 donation per person, come take a walk through their lighted wonderland, see their festival of trees, and meet their adoptable pets. Entry is limited to 40 people per hour, so advance registration is recommended. Adopters will receive a special goody bag of coupons and treats from our sponsors. Additional activities include: Write a letter to Santa (free), Hot Cocoa Cabana, Marshmallow Roasting, Bake Sale. Event is open to the public, even if you aren’t looking to adopt at this time. *No personal pets.*

Holiday Movie and Cookie Decorating with The Savannah Cultural Arts Center, December 11th-11:30am

Drop in for a classic holiday movie and cookie decorating activity! Cookie decorating will begin at 11:30am with the movie starting in the Ben Tucker Theater at 12:30pm. This event is open to all ages (youth must be accompanied at all times). Cost: $5 per family

Wormsloe Christmas Hike, December 11th-10:00am-11:00am and 2:00pm-3:00pm

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat. With Yuletide upon us they need your help to find the Wormsloe Yule log. Hear the stories and traditions of seasons past as they journey through the Wormsloe forest in search of the Yule log to burn for good luck in the coming new year. Both hikes will end with the day’s other holiday festivities and demonstrations. Make sure to bring water and wear closed toed shoes. Reservations are required, space is limited. Admission: $7 per child and $15 per adult. Call their office at (912) 353-3023 to make your reservation. Your choice of 2 hikes during the day. Hikes start at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Big Band Holidays: Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, December 11th-3:00pm

Every December, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis presents this Grammy Award–winning holiday extravaganza. With soulful big band arrangements of songs both sacred and secular, Big Band Holidays is an uplifting tradition enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to some swinging JLCO instrumentals, virtuosic vocalist Alita Moses joins the band for imaginative new versions of classics like “White Christmas” and “Merry Christmas, Baby.” Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year alongside your fellow music lovers at matinee and evening performances. Children 12 and under receive a 50% ticket discount. A Lighthouse Christmas by The Tybee Island Historical Society, December 11th-6:30pm, 7:30pm, 8:30pm

The Tybee Island Historical Society would like to invite you to enjoy a 1930s Christmas with the Lighthouse Keeper and his family. Included in your admission is a rare nighttime climb to the top of the lighthouse, a tour of the Head Keeper’s Cottage, a performance by local carolers, and a cup of hot cider. Please call the Tybee Island Historical Society at 912-786-5801 to reserve your tickets, as space is limited. $25 for adults and $15 for children between the ages of 5 -17.  Payment required at time of booking.
