Old Fort Jackson offers Puppy Love: Support the Fort “Yappy Hour” on February 11th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Old Fort Jackson in Savannah is hosting a fun Valentine’s Day themed “Yappy” hour event on Thurs. Feb. 11 2021, 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Bring your dog, dressed to the nines, in their finest Valentine’s Day outfit. Guests will enjoy a cash bar, fun activities with their furry friend and river views from the fort. Admission for this event is FREE to the public. Activities include a bar with a special Pooch Punch cocktail, a kissing booth selfie station, a best dressed doggy costume contest at 6pm and a 50/50 raffle with a drawing at 6:30PM. Guests must be present at the time of the drawing in order to win. For the safety of all staff and guests, social distancing protocols will be in place, including limiting the number of guests inside the fort, and implementing enhanced sanitizing procedures. Guests are required to wear masks and adhere to public health safety protocols at all of Coastal Heritage Society sites. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Please wear a mask and pick up after your pet.
Astronomy Night at Oatland Wildlife Center on February 12th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Learn the prominent winter constellations, drink hot chocolate and chat with friends around the fire! Park in the main parking lot at Oatland’s main building and walk around the side where the amphitheater is to find the roaring fire. Cost is $5 per person and all proceeds go directly to the care and upkeep of our animals. Pre-registration is required by 3:00pm on February 11th. Registration for this public event is limited and will operate per CDC guidelines. We encourage all participants to wear masks and spatial distance. Telescopes will be sanitized between individual viewings.

Laiken Love is coming in hot this Valentine’s Day weekend at La Scala. She will be bringing her band back to the Garden of Eden for a night of your favorite love songs. Calling all intrepid heroes to join the ranks of Captain Noble, in the regiment of lieutenant cornel James Oglethorpe. Participants will receive the knowledge, skills and resources to defend Savannah. This 45 min workshop is recommended for ages 8-12 and is a part of Wormsloe’s lecture and workshop series through February for Georgia History Month. Sunday February 14th Starland Yard is getting all warm and fuzzy with vendors from 2-6pm, then from 6-9pm they will have a craft table to make your own Valentine, polaroid prom photos courtesy of Long Drink, plus DJ Jose Ray spinning your favorite high school throwbacks and slow jams.
