Spring Celebration & Sheep Shearing at Oatland Island Wildlife Center on March 20th from 10:00am to 4:00pm

From the sheep’s body to the finished wool product! Observe and participate in the magical creation of a woolen shawl through all the stages of wool processing. Members of The Fiber Guild of the Savannahs join Oatland staff and volunteers in making this traditional spring celebration fun for the whole family. The Oatland sheep and angora goats will be sheared throughout the day with crafts, games, hay rides and much more.


Mycology 101 with Swampy Appleseed at Whippoorwill Farms on March 21st from 11:00am to 1:00pm

This class is 2 hours long and is geared toward those interested in mycology. Walk the forests of Whippoorwill Farms and learn about the biology of the forests and how they work to help facilitate the growth of mushrooms. Learn basic mushroom biology and how to help identify the mushrooms in our forests. Learn about safe collection and handling and feel confident so that you can wander the forests of your home and start collecting your own. As if that wasn’t enough, leave with your very own Mushroom Grow Kit to jumpstart or nurture your excitement for mushrooms too! Tickets are $100 per person and class sign ups are non-refundable – Class will be held Rain or Shine – Space is limited to allow for a lot of hands on experience and attention to detail for each person.


Pancakes for Paws at the Original Pancake House on March 22nd and March 23rd from 6:30am to 2:30pm

Join HSGS at The Original Pancake House at 7201 Hodgson Memorial Drive for the best pancakes around. A portion of the sales from all pancakes sold will be donated to HSGS. They will also have a booth out front from 10am-1pm for adoptable dogs.


Tried & True a Classic Cocktail Class by Dining with Rhett on March 24th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Led by head bartender Connor Gilette, this interactive cocktail class will educate our attendees on the fundamentals of how to create the perfect classic cocktails, stirred, shaken and built in glass. Taking place in their Rhett Private Dining room, enjoy creating a martini, gimlet and old fashioned all while nibbling on an individual charcuterie and cheese platter. Connor will also share the history of cocktails and Savannah’s cocktail scene history. PLUS, the fun doesn’t stop there, you will be able to practice these cocktails at home as you will receive a cocktail kit to take home that includes a bar jigger, shaker tins, cocktail strainer, bar spoon, and mixing glass. Tickets are $99 per person.
