On Beckett at the Savannah Repertory Theatre, May 12th-May 15th
Bill Irwin can’t escape Samuel Beckett. He has spent a lifetime captivated by the Irish writer’s language. In this intimate 90-minute evening, Irwin will explore a performer’s relationship to Beckett, mining the physical and verbal skills acquired in his years as a master clown and Tony Award-winning actor. Irwin’s approach to the comic, the tragic, to every side of Beckett’s work – including Waiting for Godot, Texts for Nothing, and more – will allow audiences to experience the language in compelling new ways. Enrichment Saturday in the Barnyard at Oatland Island Wildlife Center, May 14th-9:30am-10:30am
This event allows the public to see some of the special work that often goes on behind-the-scenes at Oatland. This is an opportunity to witness how the Animal Care Staff provides special treats and activities to help hone the animals’ natural behaviors. Adults and children will participate in creating enrichment material for their barnyard residents and will watch the cow, donkey, and pig experience their special creations. Tickets are limited to 10 people per session. $20.00 per person, for all ages. All attendees must have a ticket. All participants must be at least 4 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a paid adult. Your ticket price includes admission to Oatland for the day, so feel free to stay and see the other animals after your program.

Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, May 14th-7:30pm
Dr. Monica Dekle, conductor. Wesley Monumental Choir. 42-piece orchestra. Alysa Smith, soprano. Nicholas Davis, baritone. Proceeds benefit Wesley Monumental Member and Purple-Heart Veteran Ryan Davis and his wife and son, Asia and Knox. While deployed to Afghanistan in August 2019, Ryan was severely wounded in an explosion. He underwent 28 life-saving surgeries, leaving him as a triple amputee. Ryan and his family have (and will) suffered unimaginable difficulties. Thank you for helping them. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased here.

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day at the UGA Aquarium! Learn about the incredible diversity of birds that visit the Georgia coast each year during their migratory journeys. Bring the family for a fun day of hands-on activities and animal encounters. Throughout the day, UGA Aquarium educators will be joined by ornithological organizations and birding experts who will have stations set up along the aquarium’s picnic area and Jay Wolf Nature Trail with educational activities for all age groups.
