Plant Riverside Oktoberfest, October 1st-October 31st-Events & Times Vary
“Plant Riverside looks forward to celebrating Oktoberfest at Plant Riverside District with a blend of old and new traditions,” said Richard C. Kessler, Chairman and CEO of The Kessler Collection. “We warmly invite local residents and guests to join us at Savannah’s Entertainment District for a festive outdoor Oktoberfest event.” On Saturdays from 1-4 p.m., the Pavilion Tent along the riverfront at Plant Riverside District will feature free live music as well as free keg bowling, bratwurst eating contests and stein holding competitions. Bob and the Polka Dots will perform traditional polka music at the Pavilion Tent from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, October 3; Saturday, October 9; and Sunday, October 31. In addition, the Pavilion Tent at Plant Riverside District will feature free live music on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m., showcasing the Eric Culberson Band, Lyn Avenue, Draucker, Nickel Bag of Funk and other talented local and regional artists. Bob Taylor will perform live at the Biergarten on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. Throughout Oktoberfest, 14 exceptional restaurants at Plant Riverside District will offer a range of food and drink specials.

Poppell Farms opens for the 2021 Fall Season, Weekends Oct. 2-Oct. 31 2021
Opening October 2-31 for the Fall season! Daytime fun: Explore a 10-acre maze, wagon rides and a Pumpkin Patch! Stay after dark on Friday and Saturday nights to explore the maze with a flashlight (it’s NOT haunted). Beginning October 8, after dark brave the Haunted Trail through the woods! Areas of the farm are lit for visitors to enjoy some activities after dark.

Halloween Hike at Oatland Island Wildlife Center, October 15th & October 16th (tickets available October 1st), 5:00pm-8:00pm (SOLD OUT)
Take a walk with your Trick or Treaters down the forest trail to meet and gather goodies from friendly animal characters in this years fully outdoor event. Mother Earth will be there to show you the way and along the trails various character and candy stops await. There will be crafts, face painting, a fossil hunt and many more monstrous activities that await your arrival. Tickets are by RESERVATIONS ONLY with no day of – onsite sales. $5.00 for adults and $10.00 for children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Last hike leaves at 8:00pm. Check October 1st for when Halloween Hike 2021 reservations will open.

SLAM (MID-TERM) – SAVANNAH LOCAL ARTIST MARKET, October 16th-10:00am-5:00pm
For the first time The Savannah Local Artist Market will be holding a second market in 2021 – SLAM Mid-Term! This will be their 4th market which will feature over 60 local and regional artists will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 from 10 am-5 pm at the Salvation Army Baseball field, 3000 Bee Rd. and Washington Ave. This free outdoor event, with masks and social distance in accordance with current CDC guidelines. The market will feature a wide variety of artists including fine arts, photography, jewelry, potter, fiber, mixed media, sculpture and so much more. Food trucks on site to feed the body after a day of mindful art!

‘FINDING FREEDOM’ FREE FAMILY DAY (JEPSON CENTER ONLY), October 16th-10:00am-5:00pm
Telfair offers a free admission family day to Savannah and Chatham County residents to view the exhibition Sonya Clark: Finding Freedom and other current works on view. The event will include take-home activities available for pickup as well as hands-on activity stations in the museum from 1–4pm, docent tours, and an artist demonstration.

Hello Neighbor Community Celebration at Forsyth Park, October 17th-11:00am-6:00pm
LIVE 2021 Hello Neighbor SAV Community Celebration, Sunday October 17, at Forsyth Park (bandshell area). All day Hello Neighbor SAV will host a citywide “Meet Your Neighbor: Community Celebration”, consisting of an interactive sculpture made collaboratively with the community and area Neighborhood Association groups called the “Monument of the Now”. Pre-activities will start with fundraising yoga at 10 am followed from 11am – 6 pm with a day of food, vendors, community booths, art activities, and entertainment. We will also feature community speakers, artists, musicians, entertainment, neighborhood association community booths, face painting, and activities for people of all ages, so please mark your calendars and register now.
1- as a participant, by coming and participating in the free interactive art and community building activities.
2 – as a Neighborhood Association group
3 – as a non-profit or artist providing a service, entertainment, musician, speaker or interactive artwork at the event.
4 -as a vendor selling your own local products to support the event with a $35 vendor fee to assist with the cost of the event and promotions.

Yoga Jam Series by New Yoga Now: Sacred Connection, October 17th-1:00pm-2:30pm
NYN’s beloved, intuitive teachers Kendall Beene and Emily Polonus join forces with Matthew Jaidev Duplessie of Audio Soul Healing for this multi-sensory yoga experience! Emily and Kendall incorporate creative movement, powerful breathwork, essential oils, and meditation into a fluid, steady vinyasa sequence. Matthew’s music weaves a vibrational tapestry thoughtfully designed to amplify the energetic intention of the vinyasa sequence. This Yoga Jam will be a treat- designed to cleanse and align the physical and mental bodies and recalibrate the energy body. Release your burdens to remember the sacred connections in your very being!

Come out October 17th from 11AM-5PM to enjoy local vendors, food trucks, petting zoo (yes, we said it, petting zoo!), pumpkins, costume contest, adoptable animals and more! Musical talents from the Armadillo Bluff acoustic duo will be on site. To participate in the costume contest for dog or people stop by our Costume Contest Booth.
