Plant Riverside Oktoberfest  through October 29th

The second annual Oktoberfest celebration, which will showcase a blend of old and new German traditions from Saturday, September 24 through Saturday, October 29. All family-friendly festivities are free and open to the public and will take place at Plant Riverside District, located on Savannah’s historic riverfront at 400 W. River St. Every Saturday from 1-4 p.m., the Pavilion Tent along the riverfront at Plant Riverside District will feature free live polka music by Bob and the Polka Dots as well as a free keg toss, bratwurst eating contests and stein holding competitions. Throughout Oktoberfest, the exceptional restaurants at Plant Riverside District will serve specialty beers as well as food and beverage options for all ages.

Still Life Night Workshop with Small Creative, October 20th-6:30pm-8:00pm

Join them for a magical night of creativity and plants, for their first Still Life Night Workshop with Small Creative! Be inspired by the lush greenery of the shop as you draw (or paint) plants from observation. They will provide a multiple plant scenes, and all levels of experience are welcome! Come ready to get your hands a little dirty & have some fun! Price includes all materials. If you have other plants you would like help repotting feel free to bring those in as well. Water and Unsweet Tea will be complimentary.

Feelin’ witchy? Join them for an evening of tarot, astrology, chakra healing, cats, crystals, and so much more! Tickets for Witches & Whiskers are $60 and include:1 tarot reading; 1 birth chart reading; and 1 chakra reading, A witchy pop up shop with candles, oils, books, crystals, and sage, Information on crystals, energy, and healing, Access to several different astrology and numerology books, 2 hours of cuddles with adoptable cats, “Witchy Hour” drink specials all night.

Free Family Day – The Art of Still Life (Jepson Center Only), October 22nd-10:00am-5:00pm

Join them for family activities from 1-4pm based on the exhibitions Feels Like Freedom: Phillip J. Hampton and Elegies: Still Lifes in Contemporary Art. Families may explore and experiment with art materials, create still lifes, and make string art inspired by the work of Philip J. Hampton. The afternoon also will include a demonstration of still life painting and a “living still life” activity.

Blues, Brews, BBQ & Bourbon, October 22nd-11:00am-3:00pm

CCA Georgia Presents: Blues, Brews, BBQ & Bourbon. If you love craft beer, live music, world class BBQ, and delicious whiskey, this event is for you! They are putting on an event unlike anything Savannah has seen before. When you come, you will have unlimited tastings of over 50 craft beers, multiple whiskeys, and other drinks. They have secured some of the best Texas Style BBQ vendors in the Southeast to sell food on site as well.
What To Expect:
Drinks: A big festival style tent housing dozens of beverage suppliers all providing unlimited samples of their products including craft beer, whiskey, and possibly a few other spirits.
Live Music: We will have 3 local bands each playing live music on a centrally located stage
BBQ: We have selected several Texas Style BBQ masters to come cook on site, all offset stick burning smokers, providing some of the best BBQ in the Southeast. They will be coming from multiple neighboring states just for this!

Second Annual “Costumes on the Woof” Halloween Event at Electric Moon, October 22nd-5:00pm-7:00pm

Electric Moon Skytop Lounge will host a special Halloween event for dogs and their owners to enjoy, including a special costume contest on the Moon Deck, where dogs and their owners will be judged on the creativity and originality of their coordinating costumes by a panel of local judges. Contest winners will be awarded prizes donated by Plant Riverside District and Woof Gang Bakery. Plant Riverside District’s Electric Moon will also serve as a special treat destination for Wag-O-Ween 2022, a popular pet trick-or-treating event in Savannah, Ga. that attracts more than 2,000 participants and raises funds to support local animal rescues, no-barrier community spay and neuter clinics as well as community education programs. A $10 participation fee will be collected at the door. All proceeds from the 2nd Annual Costumes on the Woof event will be donated to Renegade Paws Rescue, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the highest level of care for unwanted, abused or injured dogs and cats in the Coastal Empire and surrounding area.

Wag-O-Ween Weekend!, October 22nd-October 23rd

Savannah’s annual trick-or-treat event for dogs! Dress up with you favorite 4-legged friends and humans and trick-or-treat at Savannah businesses from the Riverfront to the Starland District!
Saturday and Sunday, 12-5pm Event tickets are $10 per participating animal and include a goody bag with items from our sponsors to collect your treats in and a map to all the participating businesses. Tickets are good for BOTH days of the event, explore one area at your leisure and come back to a different area the next day! Purchase tickets at wagoween.org or on the day of the event in Pulaski Square (downtown) and in Starland Yard. In Pulaski Square be sure to stop by our official photobooth to join the contest, grab a shirt and raffle ticket, and of course sign up for the Wiener Races (and wannabe wiener races open to ALL dogs)! Wag-O-Ween supports all participating local animal rescues and shelters from the surrounding counties- support their efforts and meet some of their adoptable dogs while you collect treats!

Saturday October 22 from 3-7 pm, join them for the inaugural Hull Park Fall Festival! Brought to you by the Ardsley Park Chatham Crescent Neighborhood & Habersham Village Neighborhood Associations with support from Stroll Ardsley Magazine and local vendors. The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival, celebrating cinematic creativity from both award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers. Each year, more than 63,000 people attend the eight-day festival, which hosts a wide variety of feature-length and short-form competition film screenings, special screenings, workshops, and panels

Where’s Noble Bones? A Bone Chilling Scavenger Hunt!, October 22nd-9:00am-4:30pm

Come help us find Noble Jones, he has lost all of his Noble Bones! Every Saturday in October Wormsloe State Historic Site will be holding a spooky scavenger hunt. It gives families a perfect way to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful natural and cultural resources here at Wormsloe while having some fun! Guests that wish to participate in this scavenger hunt will make their way to the Museum where they will find two QR codes. These will provide detailed instructions and their first clue to begin their journey to find Noble Bones. Make sure and download a QR reader if you phone’s camera doesn’t already read a QR code. The first clue will leave you to the first “Bones” family member hidden somewhere on the main trail. Near this skeleton will be the next QR code with the next clue. After you locate the fourth Bone’s family member, it will lead you to your final destination. No additional program fees apply to participate in the scavenger hunt beyond admission to the site. The scavenger hunt will be available during operation hours each Saturday in October. Every Saturday will offer a different experience with unique locations and clues for locating the skeletons.

Price: It’s completely free and open to the public but we do recommend making a reservation as the Ben Tucker Theater is limited in seating.
The 24 Hour Plays® (est. 1995, Mark Armstrong, artistic director) bring together creative communities to produce plays and musicals written, rehearsed and performed in 24 hours. Through our radically-present approach to theater, we make work that responds immediately to the world around us, builds communities and generates new artistic partnerships.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE COMING:
– The show runs around 90 minutes straight thru with no intermission
– LATE SEATING is only permitted between each 10 minute play
– The house will open 30 minutes before curtain
– Children under the age of 4 are not permitted
– NO food or drink is allowed in the theatre except water
– Please arrive with enough time to find parking. There is metered street parking and a couple parking garages within walking distance but no parking is available at the venue.
– You will receive a confirmation email with your reservation details and e-tickets attached to the bottom of the email. You can print the tickets out or present them on your phone at check-in. We will also have a list of everyone’s name if you have any trouble.

Wings & Movement: Creative Workshop, October 22nd-12:00pm-1:30pm

Create and perform with your very own Fairy or Dragon wings in this workshop combining visual and performing arts! Participants will be guided through the steps of creating wearable wings, and then learn to put them in motion in our open Studio Theater Space. Led by local artist Jamie Failing. Pre-registration required. All ages event! Youth 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult. Adults may join younger artists on the same registration when creating wings together. $20 per person or parent/child combo

Join them at the Historic Roberds Dairy, which is adjacent to Bonaventure Cemetery, for the most authentic Halloween celebration in Savannah: SCARY IN THE DAIRY, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday October 23rd, 2022.
