In your opinion, what should every shopper not leave your store without?

I think our long-time customers who have watched us grow online for the last four years would say, you can’t leave without a bottle of The Everywhere Oil!

Can you share a little about the space?

We have a big, casual space. Filipinos love to eat with “barkada” (group of friends) or family, thus we have huge space. We are also doing our best to make the space and service feel like home. We are opening our bar area soon for beer and wine, and later on beertails and winetails.

Please tell us what you believe to be “the perfect order” if someone is visiting Narratree for the first time?

I would say, start with an order of Lumpia (Filipino spring roll), a bowl of Sinigang (sour soup), and Inihaw with rice (BBQ). Top it all off with Halo Halo for dessert. This, for me is a perfect introduction to Filipino Food and our restaurant.

Sobremesa Wine Bar |  2312 Abercorn St. | sobremesasav.com

Hours: Tuesday – Friday: 4 p.m. – Midnight
Saturday: 11 a.m. – Midnight
Sunday – Monday: Closed

Please tell us what people can expect from Sobremesa and what sets it apart?

You can expect a swanky chill vibe, with an incredible wine list.

Can you share a little about the space?

The space is a dark and moody upscale lounge. Sobremesa is an untranslatable Spanish word for the activity of sitting around a table after a meal, drinking and sharing stories well into the night. The space was created to encourage that activity.

Please tell us what you believe to be “the perfect order” if someone is visiting Sobremesa for the first time?

We recommend trying a few different wines as we offer 3 oz. pours, maybe even sample them side by side. Then indulge in dessert or create you own meat & cheese board.

Stevedore Bakery | 402 Passage Way | stevedorebakery.com

Hours: Thu-Mon, 7a-2p, opening 7 days/week on August 22nd

Please tell us what people can expect from Stevedore Bakery and what sets it apart?

Stevedore is an ingredient driven bakery and coffee shop helmed by Thompson Savannah’s Executive Chef Rob Newton and Executive Pastry Chef Noah Whritenour. Stevedore is inspired by Chef Rob’s travels to different neighborhood cafés around the world that serve as the heart of their communities, and was born out of the desire to provide an everyday destination that serves exceptional food and beverage using the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients. Stevedore celebrates the bounty of the south, partnering with local farms and growers from across the region, showcasing ingredients like artisan flours from Anson Mills in Charleston, SC, and country ham from the Hammery in Tennessee. At Stevedore, guests can expect to find a diverse selection of artisan breads, pastries, snacks, and coffee, all inspired by regional specialties and seasonal ingredients.

Can you share a little about the space?

Located steps from the Savannah River, this Eastern Wharf destination gets its namesake from the waterfront workers who load and unload ships in port cities like Savannah. The space is modern while still warm, casual and welcoming, with the work in progress on display for guests to see. It’s a perfect environment for guests to visit in the early morning for a coffee before their work day begins, or in the afternoon when the craving for something sweet hits. There is an outdoor patio for guests to enjoy their artisan, handcrafted breads and pastries outside while soaking up some Savannah sunshine.

Please tell us what you believe to be “the perfect order” if someone is visiting Stevedore for the first time?

The perfect order at Stevedore must include a loaf of one of their naturally leavened breads, like the Low Country Seeded Rye Loaf, Baguette,or Benne Seed Sourdough Loaf. Locally inspired sweet or savory laminated pastries such as the Chocolate Pecan Croissant and Country Ham & Cheese Croissant are a must, along with a Georgia Peach Hand Pie and a Stevedore twist on a classic French pate a choux – Benne Seed Profiteroles with banana miso caramel and whipped pecan butter. For lunch, the Focaccia Sandwich made with their Benne & Bull’s Bay Salt Focaccia, mozzarella, garden basil and market tomatoes is quickly becoming a fan-favorite. To complement the hand-made breads and pastries, make sure to order locally roasted PERC Coffee.

Poe’s Tavern | 7 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd | poestavern.com

Please tell us what people can expect from Poe’s Tavern and what sets it apart?

Since Edgar Allan Poe was stationed in the military on Sullivan’s Island, SC, our Managing Partners opened the first Poe’s Tavern back in 2003 to pay homage to E.A.P. Each of our locations has an amazing array of E.A.P. themed artwork across the walls and pages of his work lining the bathroom walls. It’s really a unique dining experience!

Can you share a little about the space?

Our space is a laid-back gastropub; the ambiance is perfect for date night, a casual lunch, watching sports, large wedding groups, or to lounge in the sun with a cocktail. We also have a large dog friendly patio space.

What about the food?

Our unique burger toppings really sets us apart from other restaurants. We offer toppings such as crab cakes and buffalo shrimp (yes, on top of a burger!), delicious cheeses such as pimiento, goat, & jalapeno jack, to name a few. We grind our beef in house which truly makes a large impact in the taste and juiciness of our burgers. We also have seafood tacos, salads, drunken chili nachos, and lots more! We offer a kid’s menu and gluten free/vegan friendly menu items. We’ve added an incredible Salmon Salad and Salmon Tacos to our Savannah menu which is not offered at any of our other locations. We grind our beef in house which truly makes a large impact in the taste and juiciness of our burgers.

Hours: Open 7 Days per Week 11am-10pm

The Cafe on 63rd | 513 E 63rd St | @thecafeon63

The Café on 63rd is your brand new midtown stop for a nice cup of coffee or tea with a perfectly curated choice of Savannah’s best pastries, donuts, and bagels all under one roof.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

Please tell us what people can expect from The Cafe on 63rd and what sets it apart?

The Café on 63rd is a small, intimate little spot in the heart of midtown that brings several of Savannah’s favorite spots under one roof! We locally source all of our items from Auspicious, Midtown Deli, the Donut Shop in Bloomingdale, Hale Tea Company, and Cup to Cup is our coffee source. We also have several pieces on display and available for purchase from local artists and makers to check out. We also make a few things ourselves and hope to do more of that in the future as we add to our menu.

Can you share a little about the space?

The space has a very relaxed feel. There are some familiar things if you’re familiar with Gottlieb’s bakery. All of our displays and counters are from their old shop, and we love to have that huge bit of Savannah history in our space and be able to give it a home again (our iced coffee recipe is from them as well, as much as I’d love to take credit for it). There is seating available for any folks that would like to just come over and hang out for a bit, we have Wi-Fi for anyone that needs a spot to come by and work while they have a cup of coffee or tea and a snack. We will have some outdoor seating probably by next summer!

Please tell us what you believe to be “the perfect order” if someone is visiting The Cafe on 63rd for the first time?

This is such a hard question! I’ve curated these offerings to kind of reflect some of my favorite local snacks and treats, so I can’t ever pick just one thing. My go-to is always a cheese danish from Auspicious or the chocolate frosted donut or old-fashioned donut that we get from the Donut Shop in Bloomingdale. Our chicken salad is the BEST, we offer it in a container or on a croissant as a sandwich. The pimento cheese is also one of my favorites. I don’t even usually like pimento cheese but this is amazing! It’s great on crackers, as a sandwich, or just by the spoonful! We have a great cup of coffee, and of course, the iced coffee is super yummy, as well as all of the tea offerings we have from Hale Tea Co. Make sure to follow us on social media to see up-to-date new items and weekly specials!
